Funeral services for Artice Darlene Brown, 74, West Plains, were Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown died at 5:52 p.m., Sunday, May 23, 2010, at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Ozark County, Mo., to William and Emeline Dodson Evans. On Aug. 17, 1955, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to Tommy Brown. She married into a wonderful loving family, who she loved dearly. Mrs. Brown spent many years working at the International Shoe factory. She enjoyed her job and had many friends who she still talked about. She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing that talent. She enjoyed her family and spending time with her sisters. She was a loving, caring wife and mother who lived her life gracefully even in illness and pain. Her legacy to all who knew her would be to live life and live it gracefully. She is survived by a loving husband, Tommy Brown, of the family home; two daughters, Debbie Hooker, husband, Mike, of Grapevine, Texas, and Karen Brown of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three grandsons, Clint Hooker from the state of Tennessee, Thomas Dodson and Hunter Dodson, both of the state of Oklahoma; four brothers, Junior Evans, wife, Pauline, Dale Evans, wife, Jacque, Delbert Evans, wife, Donna and Clifton Evans, wife, Linda, all of West Plains; four sisters, Imogene Mitchell, Lillie Moss, Thelma Johnson, husband, Larry and Pat Carrico, husband Bill, all of West Plains; sisters-in-law, Jennie Mangrum, husband, Lowell, of West Plains, and Waneva Taylor, husband, Charley, state of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Joe Brown, wife, Jean, of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, and two brothers, Dallas Evans and Bennie Evans, precede her in death. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
