Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, watching game shows and swinging on her front porch.
Betty was born in Marion on Jan. 27, 1924. She was raised by the late Clarence and Geneva Johnson.
She married John O. Bannister on Sept. 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1974.

Funeral service will be at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home at 10 a.m., Thursday with Rev. Todd Graham officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairmount Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
