PENDLETON — Samuel Carl Ballard, 85, Pendleton, passed away April 19, 2010, at Rawlins House, Pendleton.

He was born March 8, 1925, in Vincennes, and resided in Anderson most of his life. Samuel was a Purdue University graduate.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He retired as a design engineer from Guide Division of General Motors after 35 years of service.

Samuel enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and was a member of the Guide Campers.

He is survived by two sister and a brother. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (White) Ballard; parents, Samuel and Lena (Snider) Ballard; daughters, Linda Gregory and Shana Featherstone; and son, Larry Ballard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Whetstone Christian Church, 5940 Madison Ave., Anderson, with Pastor Stephen Gettinger officiating. Cremation will take place.

Arrangements are being handled by Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson.
