Bessie F. Holloway Buttry, 80, died at her home at Wappapello Jan. 7, 1996. Her death was'sudden and unexpected.
Mrs. Buttry was born March 7, 1915, near Puxico and had lived most of her life here, where she was in several businesses with her husband. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Holloway.
She was married to Willie Buttry May 18, 1940, at Puxico. He survives of the home in Wappapello. Other survivors include two sons, Larry Buttry of Poplar Bluff, and Dr. Kenneth Buttry of Platteville, Wisc.; two brothers, Walter and Neal Holloway of PUXICO; five grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.
She graduated with the class of 1932 at Puxico High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She also attended the Marble Hill Business College.
One brother, Lynn Holloway, and one grandson, Kurt, preceded her in death ..
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1996, starting at 6 p.m. in the Morgan Sifford Funeral Home in Puxico. Funeral services will be held at II a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the funeral chapel, with Rev. Wiley McGhee officiating. Burial will be in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico ..
