Jesse Cummings Jr. died at the age of 52, at the State Penitentiary in McAlester, Oklahoma, executed by Lethal Injection, for the crime of murder. Cummings had lived in a Coal County household, overlapping sexual relationships, incest, violence, and control. He was a Polygamist and Pedophile and Bigamist. He lived with his ailing father at the time, and two wives, Sherry Cummings and Juanita Cummings, he had one child with each woman. He had a half-sister and niece that lived in nearby Tushka, Oklahoma. September 9th, 1991, his sister Judy (Moody) Mayo was found near Atoka Lake, a month later, his 11 year old niece, Melissa Moody, was found in Choctaw County, stabbed to death. The gruesome murders went unsolved for three years, until one of Cummings wives, Juanita, confessed to the murder of his sister, she said Jesse threatened to kill her son, if she didn't kill his sister. Both wives helped dump the body. He then molested his niece and took her to a rural area in Choctaw County, stabbing her to death. He was originally charged and convicted of both murders, but the murder of his sister was overturned, by the Criminal Court of Appeals, because his accomplices testimony linked him to the killing. Juanita Cummings is serving a life sentence for second degree murder, Sherry Cummings is serving 35 years on two counts of accessory to murder after the fact, and one count of permitting a child to be abused. The death penalty of the murder of his niece was upheld. His final meal was: A bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, plus eight additional drumsticks, and a chocolate milkshake. His last statement from the execution chamber, while strapped to the gurney, was: "I love my family. I love my children. I love my gorgeous Angel. The justice system let me down on this case. It turned a blind eye to the truth in this. You came here today to see an innocent man die. I forgive everybody involved in this."
