My great-grandfather Joseph Dixon Baker enlisted at Downington, Ohio on August 24, 1861 in Company C 30th Regiment Ohio Infantry and was mustered in on August 29 at Camp Chase. He was wounded in the left knee on September 17, 1862 at the battle of Antiedem, Maryland. He was discharged 31 January 1864 and re-enlist as a Veteran Volunteer according to General Order 191 War Department Series of 1863 on February 1, 1864 at Larkinsville, Alabama. He was discharged on August 13, 1865 at Little Rock, Arkansas.
1867 he became a Circuit rider Ministries Methodist and then as a Baptist.
