Anna was enumerated in 1880.
The 1880 Indiana, Allen County, Milan Township Federal Census enumerated 2 June 1880 by Stephen Heath shows:
HARLER, Frank, 27, farmer, born Indiana, parents born Indiana
HARLER, Mary, wife, 24, keeping house, born Indiana, father born Baden, mother born Ohio
HARLER, Annie, daughter, 1, born Indiana, parents born Indiana
(Note: The 1880 U.S. Census index shows Harler. However, when looking closely at the actual census page, the name is Hasler, which is pretty close to Hosler. As a result, it took some time locating their 1880 census record. DK)

Anna met Owen Neufer, who was from Noble County, IN. In about 1901, Anna left Leo, IN for Chicago, IL. She was pregnant--no place for her back in Indiana and she left her family and struck out on her own. Anna and Owen did not marry. Anna Hosler and baby son Irwin Neufer moved to San Francisco. She had seen an ad in Chicago where she worked in a shirt factory. The ad was encouraging women to come to San Francisco, CA - their way was paid. She obtained a job in a fabric company in San Francisco and that is how she met Lawrence Belser. He was a tailor and he came to her company to purchase material.

Anna and Lawrence did not 'officially' marry until 1918 but began a life together already in 1902. Three chldren were born in San Francisco prior to marriage: Lucretia Elizabeth Belser, born 9 Nov 1910; Esther Louvenia Belser, born 1 Dec 1912; and Erin Emelia Belser, born 19 Sep 1914.

At some point in time, most likely soon after her mother's death in Leo, IN in March 1919, and when things in SF were so awful--not enough money and no jobs that that Anna and the 3 girls went back to Indiana to care for her father, Fran Hosler, at the Hosler Homestead. Shortly afterward, Lawrence joined them in Leo, IN where he found work for the railroads. In 1922, her sister, Agnes married Frederick Wise who also lived in the Hosler Homestead. Soon afterward, Lawrence's relative in San Francisco offered him some money to open a tailoring shop. Anma, Lawrence and their three daughters moved to San Francisco and remained there the rest of their lives.

In 1910 Lwarence is listed as Leon Belser. Other information is also not correct.
