RAVENNA — Gene Badura, 76, of Ravenna died Saturday, April 3, 1999, at the St. Francis Skilled Care Center in Grand Island..

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Ravenna. The Rev. Rod Pruss will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna..

A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church..

Mr. Badura was born May 5, 1922, in Mason City to Frank and Valentina (Schroll) Badura. He went to school in rural Custer County and in Ansley. He moved with his family in 1940 to Clarks, Wyo. He returned to Nebraska in 1952 and farmed for his aunt near Ashton..

He married Helen Kucera on January 16, 1967, at Ravenna. The couple farmed and raised cattle in Hall, Buffalo and Sherman counties..

He enjoyed playing cards..

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Knights of Columbus..

Survivors include his wife; stepmother Katherine Badura of Montana; two stepsons, Ron Kucera and Terry Kucera, both of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elmarie Denny of Clarks, Wyo. and Tereasa Deso of Midland, Texas; four half brothers; and three half sisters..

He was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson..
