Dr. A. M. Thomas, Parker Druggist, dies at 46
Dr. A. M. Thomas, aged forty-six years, well known pharmacist, died Monday at his home in Parker, where he had lived for the past six years and conducted a drug store. Death was due to a malignant form of goiter from which he had suffered for several years.
Dr. Thomas was born in Connoquencessing township and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thomas. He was educated in the Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and had been employed for a number of years in the Minteer Pharmacy, Lyndora, and the Purvis Pharmacy, Butler, before locating in Parker. He was a member of St. John's Reformed church of Butler township and of Knights of Phythias Lodge No. 222, Beaver Falls, Pa.
He was married to Miss Stella Wendel [Estella Virginia Wendell, 1885-1970], daughter of Bernard Wendel of Lyndora, who survives him. Besides his wife he leaves his mother, Mrs. Sarah Thomas of Connoquenessing; one sister, Mrs. Emma Bracken Cunningham of Butler, and five brothers, Dr. V. F. Thomas and Dr. James T. Thomas of Evans City, Philip F. Thomas of Duquesne, Pa., George M. Thomas of Connoquenessing township, and Roscoe A. Thomas of Woodlawn station.
Funeral services will be held this evening at 8 o'clock at the residence in Parker, by Rev. James Briceland, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Serice and interment will be at 1 o'clock, Thursday, in St. John's cemetery, Harmony and Meridian roads, Butler township.
