Connie was born April 8, 1924 in Lander, Wyoming to Roland and Ina Millard and went to be with her Lord and Saviour August 6, 2013.
Prior to moving to the Tri-Cities in 1942 she studied dress design in San Francisco, CA. She was married to Emmett Barton and was a homemaker for many years.
In 1972 she established a restaurant named "Connie's Little Red Inn" and operated it successfully until selling it in 1974. Moving to Basin City she owned and operated the Basin City Café until 1977. After retiring from the restaurant business she was employed as a bookkeeper for various businesses in the Basin City Area.
After marrying Joe Guilford in 1981 they managed the Sunrise Villa Apartments for 20 years. Never one to be idle, she spent 14 years servicing ATM machines in the Tri-Cities.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth and three brothers, Robert, Ralph and Max; her children, Scott W. Barton (1951-1974), Carey L. Bongers (Bob)(1956-1984) and "Skip" Fay B. Barton, (1948-2006) and step-son Curtis Guilford (Claudia) (1965-2007).
She is survived by her husband Joe Guilford; daughters Alaina Bissell (Bob), Rebecca Barton (Dave Russell); step mother-in-law Mary Guilford (Sandpoint Idaho), step- children Les Guilford (Pam), Todd Guilford (Andrea); grandchildren Randee Alford (Kentin), Amanda Neyens (Tobin), Kendel Jackson; step-grandchildren Richard Guilford (Becky), Samantha Guilford, Cami Guilford, Curtis Guilford, and numerous great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Connie was a member of the Kennewick Church of the Nazarene, and although declining health in her last years made her homebound, Mom was always an example of grace, courage and inspiration to her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Connie on Sunday, Aug. 25th , 2013 at the Kennewick Church of the Nazarene, 2402 S. Union Street, Kennewick, WA at 4:00 pm. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately after the Celebration at the Cherry Hill Club House, 2917 W. 19th Avenue, Kennewick
