Myra was born Jan. 5, 1908, in North Carolina to William Baxter and Dora Ann (Edwards) Bennett. She moved with her parents to Tennessee, Iowa and to Seymour Township, Eau Claire, as a child.
She attended school in Seymour Township of Eau Claire.
She worked as a domestic housekeeper and motel owner. She enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida and Arizona. She enjoyed birds and various craft projects, shopping and collecting owls. She was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She married Vilas Bergh in 1937. After his death, she married Galen Cripe on Dec. 7, 1959. They built a home in the town of Hallie, Chippewa County. She lived in Hallie until his death, when she moved to Eau Claire in 1972.
She entered Dove Healthcare Nursing Home October, 1997.
Myra is survived by two step-children, Carol (Allard) Peck and Gary (Cleone) Cripe; several step-grandchildren; one sister, Aza Bergh of Eau Claire; one brother, Edward (Carol) Bennett of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; both husbands; eight brothers, Lawrence, Milton, Clarence, Jason, Baxter, Dove, Obie and Robert Bennett; one sister Pearl Anderson.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Chapel, with interment at Northside Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the chapel.
