Graveside services for Glen F. Barnes, 72 of Marshall, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Algoma Cemetery North in Marshall under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Barnes died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Community Care Center of Marshall. He was born March 1, 1935, in Marshall to Clarence Whaley and Dora Frances Brown Barnes. He graduated from Marshall High School and North Texas State University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1962. He was a retired business owner in multi level marketing. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his brothers, Clarence W. Barnes, Jr. of Longview and Basil Neill Barnes of Dallas; two nieces; two nephews; a great niece; a great nephew and friends Gene and Frankie Baxter. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Cypress Valley Bible Church or Hospice of East Texas.
