GERVAIS, Ore. - Norma Jean Bell, 78, of Gervais, OR, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010. She was born on April 8, 1932, to Robert C. and Leora (Gibson) Elliott, Sr. in Phillipsburg, KS. Norma Jean grew up with her mother and brother in Monmouth, OR, and later moved to McMinnville, OR, where she graduated from McMinnville high school. On Jan. 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Ted V. Bell. After their marriage they owned and operated Bell Farms and Eola cherry company. She also owned and operated Jean's Hallmark stores in Woodburn, OR. Her husband, Ted passed away on Dec. 10, 1999. She was a member of the Lincoln City Lutheran Church. Norma Jean was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James M. Elliott, who was killed in action during WWII; and one grandson, Mickey Bell. She is survived by children, James Bell and Craig Bell, both of Gervais, OR; grandchildren, Katie and Cody Bell; brothers and sisters, Rev. Robert C. Elliott, Jr., Gower, MO, and Richard (Irene) Elliott, Anita Elliott and Linda (Tony) Imm, all of Phillipsburg, KS; stepmother, Gladys Elliott, Phillipsburg, KS; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 15 at City View in Salem. Donations can be made to Operation Wounded Warrior c/o Unison Bank. 20713 E. Ocotillo Rd., Queen Creek, AZ 85242 or the Veteran's Foundation. Arrangements are by City View Funeral Home.
