JANET LOUISE SUSOTT DAVIS BEUTELL
Janet Beutell was born 27 May 1931 in Athens, Ohio in Sheltering Arms Hospital. She was the daughter of Arthur William Susott and Reba Pauline Murphy Susott. She hails from a rich family history with paternal roots from Germany who settled in Indiana and maternal roots from Rhode Island & Switzerland who settled in Illinois.
She attended North Fulton High School, University of Georgia, and graduated from Crawford Long Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia.
Janet married Second Lieutenant USAF, Gemmill Stricklin "Sonny" Davis at the home of her parents in Atlanta, Georgia on 17 Dec 1955. He was the son of Gemmill Cluggage Davis and Helen Steel Gehret Davis. In 1957, Janet and Sonny shared in the birth of their daughter. The family was well traveled and they lived in Illinois, Utah, South Carolina, England & Virginia during the marriage. Janet and Sonny later divorced in 1964.
She resumed nursing as a private duty RN at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Janet enjoyed caring for her patients and learning their personal stories.
Janet then married Huss "Hap" Melangchthon Beutell on 1 Apr 1972. He was a highly decorated Army officer. They also divorced.
Her hobbies included being a voracious reader, needlework and the appreciation of the Fine Arts. With personal fortitude and a faith in God, Janet withstood the many hardships in her lifetime.
A daughter and a sister survive. Also a niece, 4 nephews, sister-in-law & a step-son.
