Born Jan. 20, 1925, in Logansport, Indiana, he was a life resident of the Idaville area. His parents were the late Everett and Margaret Conrad.
Mr. Conrad was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a security guard at the Logansport State Hospital for more than 21 years. He then worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) for 17 years. He also raised purebred golden retrievers, German shorthairs and beagles.
He attended Hickory Grove Church near Delphi, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
On Feb. 9, 1975, he married Ann Cox, in Idaville. She survives.
Also surviving are eight children, Richard D. Conrad (wife: Mary) of San Jose, Calif., Sheryl Conrad and Kay Conrad (husband: John), both of Logansport, Mary Cain (husband: Dave) of Monticello, Robert Conrad (wife: LeVetta) of Florida, Jeffrey Cook (wife: Kandy) of Flora, Harold "Dean" Cook (wife: Barbara) of Missouri and Robert Cook (wife: Robin) of Nampa, Idaho; and one sister, Wilma McFarland (husband: Norman) of Logansport
