Leon D. Baranowski served as a Private in the Medical Detachment, 119th U.S. Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, United States Army during World War II.

He was a son of Frank Henry Baranowski and Anna Florence Baranowski.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on January 21, 1943 at Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

He was killed in action in Germany on October 10, 1944.

He was originally from Braeburn, Pennsylvania.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on December 8, 1947.
