Grace was the family historian and had a wealth of information from the personal conversations with her father Thomas and other siblings which she was always willing to share. Her first marriage was to Jesse Wray Thompson and there was a daughter Joyce Jessica born to this union. She died in 1929. Grace later married Charles Harrison Green on 20 Apr 1935 in Washington, DC and they had a son David. He died in 2006. Grace was one of 12 children born to Thomas and Bertha (Whitehair) Marchion. She was baptised in the St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church in Washington, DC. She lived in Washington, DC since 1934, coming there from Muskogee, OK where she worked in the Prohibition Office. The last 17 years of goverment employment was with the Fish and Wildlife Service, where she retired from in September 1963. Grace become a member of the Ellen Spencer Mussey Tent No. 1 of the Daughters of Union Veterans (DUV) in 1962. She served as Tent Officer in all stations except P.I. and also served as National Secretary in 1973. She was active in the National Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service and served as National VAVS Representative Sept 1966-Mar 1969; Deputy National VAVS Representative Aug 1970-Sept 1978, and as their historian 1975 - 1981. Grace actively contributed historial memories of her father up to the age of 99 when she fell and suffered a stroke. She died at the age of 103.
