Warren Dean "Scotty" Burroughs Sr died at the VA hospital of lung cancer.
He served in the U.S. Navy in WWI off the coast of France.
Scotty was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a gunsmith in the Town of Milton, NH and had a small workshop next to his home on North Main Street that overlooked the Milton Three Ponds. His talent for making his own gun stocks brought folks from all around to purchase rifle stocks from him. He could tool his own parts to replace broken parts for rifles.
He had worked for the NH Highway Dept and fell and broke his leg which left him with a limp. He retired from the Hwy. Dept. and he and Madeline decided to purchase a camp in West Dummer, NH where they enjoyed many years together. No inside running water or toilet. They built an outhouse. Each winter hunters would show up to camp out at their property, where Scotty and Mad would put up a large tent (Mad would have a full size bed set up inside with an end table and lamp) and later he built an extra shack with a bed and heater.
