Van Dugger, son of George Walter and Bertha May Chapman Dugger, was born February 12, 1916, near Hartville Missouri. He departed his life Tuesday, September 4, 2001, in Rocky Ridge Manor, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, six months, and twenty-two days.
He was united in marriage to Rose Mary Dakota, who preceded him in death.
HE was also perceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Howard Dugger; and a sister Fern Taylor.
Van is survived by a brother, Bill Dugger, of Hartville Missouri; two sisters, Bernice High, of Hartville Missouri, and Lois Auerbach, of New York; a number of nieces and newhews; as well and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Hartville community, and attended school at the Johnson school house. In the early 1930's, he moved to California, where he was empolyed as a cook for several years. After retiring in the late 1980's, he returned to Hartville and made his home.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where one of his favorite activities was fishing. He also liked animals of all kinds and especally enjoyed his dogs and cats. He was an excellant cook and enjoyed preparing meals for his family and friends.
Van will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
