ESCATAWPA -- Mr. Floyd James Ates, 85, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Ates was born June 20, 1913, in Kayney, Okla., and was a retired welder with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula.
Survivors include three sons, James Ates and Mike Ates, both of Wade, and Raymond Ates of Vancleave; four daughters, Frances Albair, Pat LeBurg and Sandra Welty of Vancleave and Virginia Petmecky of Wade; a stepdaughter, Juanita McCain of Escatawpa; a stepson, Joe Alford of Big Point; 24 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Johnson Cemetery Tabernacle in Wade, where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery in Wade. Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point is in charge of arrangements.
