Mrs. Ron (Billie Jean) Appleman 39, 1610 East North Avenue, passed away at the Ponca City Hospital about 10 a.m. this morning following a three year period of poor health. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Tonkawa United Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. George Needham, and the Rev. Eldon Moelling of the Asbury Methodist Church in Oklahoma City officiating. Burial services will be at 3 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward, Okla. McCafferty-Bolick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Appleman was born July 26, 1933, at Fort Supply, Okla., and had been a resident of Tonkawa since 1959. Prior to that time she had lived at Chapel Hill, N.C., for one year, and prior to that in Comanche for three years. She graduated from Woodward High School, received Master's Degree from Oklahoma State University, and was a past faculty member of Northern Oklahoma College. She was a master educator and changed many students lives as a developmental reading teacher. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Association of University Women, the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and the Delphi Study Club.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Ron Appleman, and two children, Jim and Jean, of the home, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Alley of Woodward.

Those desiring to honor her memory may donate to the American Cancer Fund in care of the Service Bank of Tonkawa.
