Hope Allred Poplin 1916 ~ 2006 Hope Allred Poplin passed away peacefully November 10, 2006 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born the first of four daughters in Mountain Home, Utah to Thomas Lorenzo Allred and Amy Laura Stott July 14, 1916. She attended school with her three younger sisters, Beth, Dorothy, and Lucille; and went on to earn a degree in Nutrition and Home Economics from the University of Utah. She worked as a dietician in the San Francisco Bay area and later as a social worker for Mendocino County, CA. She married Robert Lee Poplin in 1941 and they had seven children. Throughout her life she was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings and also served a mission in Texas. She resided in Ukiah, CA from June 1964 to November 1999 before moving to South Jordan, Utah. Hope was an excellent example of love, service and generosity to her family and many friends. She was very talented and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, writing poetry, and reading. Hope was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1976; also infant son, Tommy; parents; and three sisters. She is survived by her children, Diane (Tom), Melton (Virginia) Poplin, Robert Poplin Jr., twin sons, Steven and Stanley Poplin; and Laura Friedsam. She will also be missed by her 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many other beloved family and friends. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 11 a.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So), where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Internment, East Lawn Memorial, Provo, Utah. The family would like to thank the dedicated providers at IHC Hospice for their excellent help and care. Grandma Poplin, you have taught us all so much.
