VERDIGRE - Services for Mila J. Ayers, 74, Winnetoon, will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. here at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Ludger's Cemetery in Creighton.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. wake service at the Brockhaus Funeral Home in Verdigre.
Mrs. Ayers died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

VERDIGRE -- Services for Mila J. Ayers, 74, Winnetoon, were Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with burial in St. Ludger's Cemetery in Creighton under direction of Brockhaus Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ayers died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Faith Regional Health Services.

Mila was born June 28, 1933, at Randolph, the daughter of Frank and Esther (Stedry) Sohler. She attended school in Randolph until the 11th grade. She then moved to Center and graduated from Creighton in 1951.

She married Willard Ayers on Feb. 5, 1955, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre. The couple farmed near Winnetoon all of their married life.

Mila was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church in Verdigre and belonged to CDA

She is survived by her husband Willard and children Mitch and Lorie Ayers of Norfolk, Jackie and Bob Ebel of Winnetoon, Lori and Chuck Borgmann and Amy and Don Borgmann of Norfolk, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Bev Hoelker of Iowa and Donna Moses of Arkansas, one stepbrother and three stepsisters and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and one sister.

Father Doug Scheinost was the celebrant.
