MARINE CITY—Herbert B. Beals, 82, of Marine City, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. He was born on Nov. 5, 1916 in Battle Creek, as son to Peter W. and Donna (Bassett) Beals. He married Lois E. Squier on Dec. 17, 1938 in Angola, Indiana.

Herb retired from Chrysler Corporation on Nov. 31, 1978. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. he was a member of V. F. W. Post 3129 in Marine City. he was a life member of S. Ward Lodge #62 F. & A.M. and a life member of Royal Arch-Richard Cottrell Chapter # 128. herb served three terms as Worthy Patron of the Emily War Chapter #205, Order of Eastern Star and was a member of the Mallet Club of Michigan. he was a member of the Marine City United Methodist church. Herb was an avid golfer and loved to play "Bridge" on Thursday afternoon at the Voyageur Restaurant in St. Clair.

Surviving are his wife, Lois; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Evelyn Beals of Marine City; grandchildren, Tina Hough and Eric Beals, both of El Cajon, CA.; and great-grandchildren, Nalani and Sean Hough, both of El Cajon, CA.

Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, with the Rev. Dr. Donna J. Osterhout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Clay Twp.
