Son of Salem Elijah "Sales" Newlin, and Mary Virginia Lowery.

(Noted): Floyd William Newlin was a "Twin," and had a twin brother named Raymond.

(Wife): Katherine Lucille Snapp.

Floyd William Newlin married Katherine Lucille Snapp, (the daughter of Alonzo Henry Snapp and Bertha Mae Boone), on October 5th, 1942, in Winchester, Frederick Co, Virginia., in the Saint Paul Lutheran Church, by Rev. Carl A. Honeycutt.

(Name): Floyd William Newlin (23) born 1918 Virginia.,(Status) Single., (Branch) Army, (Residence) Opequon, Frederick County, Virginia., (Occupation) Automobile Serviceman., (First Enlisted) February 3rd, 1941, in Winchester, Virginia; into the (Army). But, part of the branch switched over to the National Guards. So Floyd William Newlin was switched over to the N.G. (National Guards) on (Second Enlistment date) February 18th, 1942, in Camp Lee, Virginia; (Residence) Frederick Co, Va., (Occupation) Automobile Serviceman., (Status) Single.

(Also Noted) Floyd Newlin would later meet and marry his future wife, Miss. Katherine Lucille Snapp, by October of 1942.

(Name): Floyd William Newlin - Served in Company “I,”
the 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Unit; of Winchester, Virginia.

(Occupation): He was a farmer in his earlier years in Virginia., and later worked for a Car Wash in Newark, Ohio. My mother said her father was a "Jack-of-all-trades," and could do just about anything, but especially liked tinkering around on automobiles.

(Grandchildren): Tammy Cathy-Ann BROOKS Wilson-Smith-Green, Rebecca "Becky" Sue ECKARD Wilson, Carson Wayne Newlin, Beatrice Katherine "Beatie-Kay" NEWLIN Cunningham-Menzie, and Ralph Edward Newlin.

Star Newspaper; dated August 9th, 1994, (Tuesday) reads:

Floyd W. Newlin:

Floyd William Newlin “75,” of 300 Millwood Avenue, Winchester, Va., died Monday, at a local nursing home. Mr. Newlin was born on August 28th, 1918, in Frederick Co, Va., the son of Salem E. and Mary V. (Lowery) Newlin. He was retired as a car wash operator, in Ohio, and was in the Army, during World War II.

He was a member of the Second Opequon Presbyterian Church. He was formerly married to Katherine Lucille SNAPP, of Winchester, Va., (who lives in Kissimmee, Florida). Surviving are two daughters: Barbara (Newlin) Taylor, and Sandra Fay (Newlin) Wilson, both of Kissimmee, Florida; a son: Floyd Wayne Newlin, of Newark, Ohio; three sisters: Grace (Newlin) Pitcock, Margaret (Newlin) Hewitt-Gardner, and Lena (Newlin) Wisecarver, all of Winchester, Va; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A funeral will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, in Jones Funeral Home, Winchester, Va., with Dr. Ken H. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, in Frederick Co, Va. Pallbearers will be: (Nephews) Robert “Bussie” Wisecarver, and (Jimmy) Roy Wisecarver Jr.- sons of Lena Catherine (Newlin) Wisecarver; (Nephew) Harry Hewitt - son of Margaret (Newlin) Hewitt-Gardner; (relation) Denny Wolford; Hugh Pitcock, and Samuel Pitcock. The family will receive friends, from 7 to 9 p.m; Wednesday, at the Jones Funeral Home.
