Carrie was born on January 23, 1922 in Koleen, Indiana to Davis Blaine and Mary Etta (Harper) Emery. On February 25, 1939 she married Wilbert Allen, also from Koleen.
Carrie spent most of her life in Indiana. Her earlier years were in the Koleen/Bloomfield areas. In the early ë60's, Carrie and Wilbert moved to the Kokomo/Greentown area. Carrie moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 2002. Carrie always enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her sisters and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Two daughters and their husbands' survive: Susan and Jack Singleton of Sharpsville, Indiana and Jane and Rodger Cook of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by four grandchildren: April Barnhill of Sharpsville, Neil Singleton of Terre Haute, Amber Soergel of Tucson, Arizona, and Zach Cook of Des Moines as well as two great, grandchildren, Luke and Rose Barnhill of Sharpsville. Carrie leaves two sisters and a brother- in-law: Eva Terrell of Greentown and Marlene and Joe Cook of Deer Creek.
Her parents, her husband, Wilbert, and four siblings: Van, Maude, Quincy, and Wilma preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 5 with services to follow at 2 p.m. at Jenkins and Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, Indiana. John Clark, Pastor of Faith Community Church in Phlox will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove cemetery.
