Louise "Ms. B" Berness, 84, of Florence, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.
She was the owner and operator of Big "B" Fashions and Beauty Salon for more than 50 years.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Greenview Funeral Home, with the funeral service following in Greenview Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Brother Henry Melton will officiate. Burial will be in Barkley Cemetery.
Mrs. Berness was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Verlie Covington Putman.
She is survived by her husband, Frank "Bud" Berness; son, Michael Berness and wife, Kim, of Douglasville, Ga.; daughters, Kathy Morrow and husband, Johnny, Becky Archer and husband, Roger, all of Florence; brothers, Jesse Putman Jr., Dennis Putman and Gene Putman; sisters, Joyce Terry, Nell Holden, Bobbie Wright, Peggy Putman, Doris Hayes, Verlie Rideout, Janie Putman, Freda Michael, Annette Putman, Cassie Cleveland; grandchildren, Maria Berness, of Florence, Andrea Morrow, of Calhoun, Ga., John Brad Morrow, of Birmingham, Kelley, Whitney and Hanna Archer, all of Florence, Tim and Katlyn Berness, of Douglasville, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Putman, Danny Putman, Mike Nash, Tommy James, David Weiss and Ricky Rich.
