LOU NIMMONS was called Home on Thursday, the 21st of January 2010, just three weeks short of her 90th birthday. She was born in Houston, Texas, on the 15th of February 1920.
Mrs. Nimmons was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, neighbor and friend.
After rearing two children she became a licensed real estate broker in 1962, maintaining her license and her real estate office until the time of her death almost fifty years later. Mrs. Nimmons was a long-time member of the Houston Board of Realtors and long time member of Houston's First Baptist Church. Prior to that she was a member of Almeda Bible Church and Berachah Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Paul Nimmons. Sr. Mrs. Nimmons is survived by her two children, Jerri Nimmons Breland and Paul Nimmons, Jr.; four grandchildren, Kim Breland Souza, Ken Breland, Cynthia Nimmons Fronter-house and David Nimmons; as well by beloved great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six until eight o'clock in the evening on Monday, the 25th of January, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service is to be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 26th of January, in the Chapel of Houston's First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway in Houston, with a reception following.
The graveside service and interment will follow at one o'clock in the afternoon at Brookside Memorial Park, 13401 Eastex Freeway in Houston.
In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be directed to Houston's First Baptist Church or to a charity of one's choice.
