Peggy Cobb, 52, of Columbia, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, at Fairport Baptist Church. Burial will be in Fairport Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.
Peggy was born October 1, 1958, to Roy and Mildred McCrea Cobb. She graduated from Maysville R-1 High School in 1976; received her bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Rolla; and completed her master's degree while in St. Louis. She was employed for the past 25 years at Watlow in Columbia.
Peggy was a member of Woodcrest Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the music department and Kid Crest. She was a member of the Society of Women Engineers. Peggy loved spending time with family and friends, working with children and sharing her enthusiasm for incorporating science and mathematics through tutoring. She also enjoyed interacting with her cats, playing piano, and reading.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Roy Cobb.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Cobb, of Maysville; one sister, Nancy (Charles) Meissen, of Bethany; one niece, Sarah (Derek) Lowrey of Chula; two nephews, Matthew and Ross Meissen of Bethany; two aunts, Zelma (Albert) Smith and Gladys Cobb; and several cousins.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, Fairport Baptist Church, or Woodcrest Baptist Church in care of Bram-Turner Funeral Home, P. O. Box 350, Maysville MO 64469.
