Mrs. Lorene Owens McClure, age 73, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at her home.
Lorene entered this life on September 23, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, the daughter of Amos and Bessie Parret Owens, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 18, 1955, she was united in marriage to Fred Lee McClure, and they shared 55 wonderful years together. To their union arrived three children to richly bless their home. Lorene was a faithful member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ and will be remembered for her tremendous amount of love for her church, and her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as, her joy of gardening and reading.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Fred Lee McClure of Mt. Vernon, KY; her children, Barry Lee McClure (Janet) of Mt. Vernon, KY; Beverlee Lynne McGuire (Roger) of Mt. Vernon, KY; Cheryl Layne McClure of Mt. Vernon, KY; her seven grandchildren, Mickey McClure, Dusty McClure, Tiffany McClure; Chris McHargue, Cherie Walker, Amber Falin Watts, and Brandon Falin; her eleven great grandchildren; her brother, Amos Junior Owens (Janet) of Mt. Vernon, KY; a niece and a host of friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Bessie Parret Owens; and her sister, Pauline Sowder.
