"George Addison Bonney, 58, well known contractor and builder, died at his home here Friday night of heart trouble. He had been in poor health for a long time. About two weeks ago he was stricken with a serious heart attack while attending the Firemen's convention in Geneva. He was removed to his home, and had since been confined to his bed, but appeared to be improving to such an extent that his physician said he might sit up on Saturday. He died suddenly at about 10 pm. Friday.
"Mr. Bonney was born October 7, 1875 in Albion, son of John and Harriet Lewis Bonney. He spent his early life in the Albion and Brewerton vicinities, coming to Pulaski when he was about 20. He started his career as a carpenter, later becoming an influential contractor. Buildings erected under his direction include the Odd Fellows Temple, Charles Brooks block, Pulaski Hardware Co. block, Betts Department Store, Charles A. Jewell block, and the new Methodist church at Richland. Recently he had held a contract to erect gasoline stations for the Standard Oil Company.
"For many years Mr. Bonney was a member of the local Odd Fellows and was affiliated with the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department more than 20 years, once serving as its secretary. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
"Survivors include his wife and four children, Mrs. Murriel Van Wie, Kasoag; John Bonney of Pulaski, George Bonney of Lacona, and Miss Marjorie Bonney at home; his parents, also of this village, and three brothers, Eugene Bonney of Philadelphia, PA and Frank and Claude Bonney of Pulaski.
"Funeral services will be at the home in Delana Street at 1:30 pm Monday with the Rev. Lee A. Howe Jr., pastor of the Baptist Church officiating, and burial in Pulaski Cemetery."
