Services for Avis T. Criss, 84, 2233 W. Jefferson St. will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stout & Son Funeral Home at Russiaville. Entombment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Criss died at 10:45 p. m. Wednesday, March 25, 1992, in St. Joseph Hospital & Health Center.
She was born Dec. 2, 1907, near Russiaville, a daughter of Samuel E. and Margaret (Johnson) Turner. June 6, 1950, she married Ralph Criss, who survives.
She was a 1926 graduate of Russiaville High School and 1932 graduate of Asbury College. She was a teacher at Western High School and Wallace School. Criss was a member of the former Friends Church on north Buckeye St. She attended Salvation Army citadel and was a member of Women's Christian Temperance Union and Indiana State Teachers Association.
Also surviving are a son, Dean Criss of Kokomo; a brother, Iryl Turner of Kokomo; a sister, Edith Johnston of Glendale, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
