Beverly Jean Stead died April 10, 1930 of bronchial pneumonia at her home in Hastings, Minnesota. She was 16 months old, and had been ill for about a week following a family move.

She was born to Irving and Lydia Stead on December 11, 1928 in Hastings, Minnesota, and joined two older sisters, Dolores, age 5 and Lucille, age 3, in the family home.

She was survived by her parents; sisters; grandmother Nettie Stead; grandfather Fred Krumrei; great-grandmother Eliza Stead; great-grandfather Charles E. Poler; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services were held on April 12, 1930, conducted by Rev. T. E. Koch of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was buried at Lakeside Cemetery, where her sister Lucille would join her just one month later. Also buried with her is another sister, an infant who died at birth. Four of Beverly's little playmates acted as pallbearers: cousins Mary Ellen Harris and Elaine Evans; Betty Wilke; and Dorothy Johnson.
