George Huffman In Dec of 1965 he was stricken with a severe head ache which was diagnosed as a cerebral aneurysm. He was in the hospital for several months battling with the off and on again leaking which caused severe head aches and temporary partial paralysis. The aneurysm was located in the deep center of his brain. Towards the end of January 1966 he was well enough to undergo surgery. It was the most difficult surgery ever preformed at the Mc Kennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at that time. He survived for several days after the surgery and then passed away on January 31,1966. He would have been 54 in April.

In Memory of George N. Huffman

George N. Huffman was a longtime farmer in Garfield Township of Clark County. He and his family moved to Sioux Falls in 1960 where he operated a Mobil Service Station for a time and more recently was employed by the Bob Swift Construction Co. of Sioux Falls.
Mr Huffman passed away Monday (January 31, 1966) at the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls following about eight weeks of hospitalization.
George N. Huffman was born at Clark on April 5, 1912, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Huffman. He and Orva Wika were united in marriage May 5, 1934 at Pierpont, S.Dak.
He was a member of the first Congregational Church of Sioux Falls, and a former member of the Congregational Church at Clark. During his long residence in the Clark community he served on the LIncoln Township Board and was very active in community affairs.
Survivors are his wife, Orva of Sioux Falls; three daughters, Mrs Marlin (Clarice) Seiler of Putnam, ILL., Mrs Harold (Jeanette) Keyes of Henry, and Mrs Douglas (Shirley) Olander of Putnam, Ill; eight grandchildren; his mother, Mrs Valasta Huffman of Sioux Falls; three brothers, Charles J. of Harrisbury, S.D.; Frank of Sioux City, Ia.,and Albert of Whittier, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs Linda Kitterman of Clark; Mrs Doyle (Bessie) Berry of Pico Rivera, calif.; and Mrs Ray (Frances) Huff of Whittier, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father.
