Sarah Tapp Scott married Young Scott and they settled in the Southwest portion of Gordon Co. Ga. in 1845. Their party consisted of Young and Sarah Scott, their son William and his wife Mary White Scott. William and Mary's eleven children along with a number of other family who had travelled together via wagon train from Spartanburg. Upon arrival sons James and Spenser Scott built a cabin in an area called "Big Springs". They lived there approximately three years then moved a short distance to a farm in Plainville.
