Marie (Satterfield) Houston, 95, of Chouteau, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Pryor, Oklahoma. Marie was born on June 8, 1914 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, the daughter of Samuel Price Satterfield and Gertrude (Ray) Satterfield. She was a restaurant owner and had moved to Locust Grove from California in 1995. Marie enjoyed sewing, reading and crossword puzzles. She was also an AVON representative. Marie loved animals. Marie was a loving mother and grandmother who will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside Services will be held for Marie on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hogan Cemetery at Locust Grove, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service. Marie is survived by her son, Doug and wife, Julie Houston of Locust Grove, OK; Grandchildren, Lorie Houston Little and husband, Jon of Broken Arrow, OK, Theresa Sanchez of California and Doug Houston Jr. of California; great grandchild, Jason Sanchez; sisters, Bea Williams of Broken Arrow, OK, and her brother, Marion Gene Satterfield of Stillwater, OK; Many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her children, Hugh Houston and Robert Payton; siblings, Arthur Satterfield, Gertrude Wagor, Bobby Allred, Pauline Locke.
