George Bunton, aged ninety years, died at his home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Saturday evening last, June 10, 1899. He was the oldest person residing in this vicinity, and up to about five years ago was quite robust, but of late years has been steadily declining and losing strength. He was born at Richmond, Gaspe Co., Canada, where he continued to reside for many years. Thirteen years ago he removed to this place with his wife, where he has continued to reside with the exception of about one year spent at Cloquet, Minn. He leaves a wife and seven children, Ed Bunton of Evansville, Wis., George and Alexander Bunton of Richmond, Canada, Susan E. and Hannah J. Bunton of Michigan, and Mrs. A. McTavish and Mrs. K. Collins of Cloquet, Minn. The funeral was held from the M. E. Church on Monday afternoon. Rev. J. B Bachman officiated and interment took place in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
