Born in Rensselaer the 8th of 9 children of Luigi and Olivetta (DeJulio) D'Ambrosi. She grew up in a close knit family and neighborhood which helped form her traditional values.
In 1955 Kathleen, ever the free spirit, came to California and lived with girlfriends in her apartmnet on Cherry Avenue. She joined the "Scott's Club" at St Anthony church. Here she met many lifetime friends including her husband, Robert Rima. They were married July 14, 1956 at St Anthony's church.
As they started their family, Kathleen lost her first child in a miscarriage. She wanted to be near her sisters as her second pregnancy took hold. She and Bob agreed to raise their children back in her hometown near her family, and then return to California when the kids were grown.
She and Bob raised five children in and near Rensselaer, New York and returned to California in Noivembder of 1974 with five children. As her youngest went to school Kathleen re enetered the workforce starting as a lunch room helper and eventually grew to a position in the School District Food Services office. She retired about 1990.
Kathleen was an excellent cook and enjoyed trying new recipes. Her dinner table was always a treat and leaving without being full was not an option. She loved romantic stories in movie and novel.
Kathy was "Kate" on the East Coast, and Kathy on the West Coast.
She and Bob retired to Las Vegas where they were founding parishoners at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Kathy worked on the women's guild and made so many new friends. As they grew older they returned to California to be near their children and grandchildren.
She passed in her home at Laguna Woods of Cancer. She and Bob would have celebrated 50 years of marriage in July.
