Edmond Lewis Byram, son of, William and Mercy (Hand) Byram. He married Lucy Laura Cook March 19, 1868 in Wapello County, Iowa, daughter of Seth Cook and Nancy Miles.

During the Civil War Edmond Lewis Byram participated in several battles, the most being; The Atlanta Campaign Nashville, Franklin and the great Wilson raid through Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia. While in the service his health was injured by a sunstroke, which ultimately caused his death.

He was listed in Co., B 8th IA Calvary and was a veteran betw. 1861-1865 in the Civil War.

Edmond Lewis Byram served in Co. B 8th Iowa Calvary during the Civil War. We as a family are proud and honored to have him serve our country. Edmond Lewis Byram is my Great Uncle.
