In the fall of 1892 Mary and William came to Oklahoma Territory with a team of horses and a covered wagon with five small children aboard. Six more children were born to them on the farm they homesteaded in N. Keokuk Twp. Lincoln Co. Will was a successful farmer as well as a prominent churchman. He was an elder in the Church of God in Stroud and also served as a district officer for many years in this denomination. In June of 1926 oil was discovered on the Earp farm. This was one of the earliest oil field's in that area and there are still wells pumping in that field today. Will also raised Percheron horses and won many prizes for his horses at the county fairs.
