John I. Barr Expires in Favorite Arm Chair After Returning from Church.
J. I. Barr, a well known and respected citizen of near Cool Spring, yesterday, at about 12 o`clock, expired suddently while sitting in his favorite arm chair. Mr. Barr had been ailing for several months, but his condition had never been such as to cause anxiety.
Yesterday forenoon he attended both Sunday School and preaching services at the Presbyerian Church about a mile south of Cool Spring, and to all he seemed to be enjoying his customary health. Soon after returning home and before the women had dinner prepared, Mr. Barr complained of not feeling well. So saying, he sat down and a moment later his head dropped forward on his breast and he expired so peacefully that for a moment the family thought he had merely dropped off into a doze. Mr. Barr was a veteran of the Civil War, having served through the conflict as a private in the 105th Regiment, P. VV. Since returning from the war he resided on his farm, southeast of Cool Spring. He was highly esteemed by his comrades during the war and had been a loyal G. A. R. worker since the days of the conflict. The deceased, who was about 67 years old, is survived by a widow, one son and four daughters, namely Omer Ban (sic--should be Homer Barr), of Cool Spring, and Mrs. Thomas Shaffer, Mrs. Clyde Gould, of Coolspring, Mrs. Carl Gould, of Anita and Mrs. Boyd Gould, of Punxsutawney. The funeral will be held in the Presbyterian Church tomorrow morning at 9 o`clock; the local pastor officiating. Interment will be made in the Cochran Cemetery.

On his death certificate it gives his name as J. I. Barr; buried April 27, 1909, in Peoples Cemetery.
