The son of Ethan and Miriam Collin Armstrong. He was married to Anna Thompson Merwin on September 15, 1887. In 1894 Augustus, or Gus as he was known as, founded the A.T. Armstrong Company in Syracuse, NY. This company is the district manager for Central NY for the Standard Accident Insurance Company of Detroit.
