George W. Leech was born on July 19, 1911 in Union City South Carolina, When George was age 12 he boarded a train and made a trip to Globe, Az. by his self. When George arrived in Globe, he lived with relatives last name Mercer.
George attended Globe High School, where he met Margaret Ida Michalson, The two of them fell in love and were even refered to as Romeo and Juliet by their peers from school.
George and Margaret married around 1929 and moved into an apartment just above Margarets parents home ( Which was built by Margarets father Paul Michalson in the early 1900's from the ground up) The Michalson home is still a full viable structure that can be see at 385 S. Hill St. Globe, Az.
After Margarets parents passed away, George and Margaret inherited the home, where they lived out their life. George and Margaret had 2 children a boy and a girl, Their sons name is George Robert Leech and their daughters name is Peggy Leech, Peggy is married and has quite a few children and lives in Washington. I was a care provider for George and Margaret in their ladder years and was with them both when they passed.. Margaret who passed first, died in the hospital of Congestive Heart Failure, George passed away about a year later, of what I call a broken heart, George truly missed Margaret and on July 1st, George went home with the Lord and to be with Margaret, once again united for life..
