Henry was the youngest son of pioneer landowner Thomas Brownston/Brunson and his wife Mary.
Thomas was a free man of color who moved from Franklin Co, PA to Mercer County, PA in about 1805 and owned a 200 acre farm called 'Wheatlands'.
He left half of 'Wheatlands' to sons Henry and James, and half to sons Joseph and John.
Henry Brunson married Sarah Davis (maiden name given by descendants).
Henry & Sarah were the parents of 3 known children:
