Birth: Dec. 7, 1923
Death: Mar. 26, 2011

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona
Thursday, March 31, 2011

Warren Bloom was born to Willis and Grace Bloom in Stillwater, Minnesota on Dec. 7, 1923. He passed away peacefully on March 26, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Bloom; his sons, David (Francis) and Michael (Cynthia); and stepchildren Victoria McPherson, Douglas Routhe (Paulette), Laurence Routhe (Mary-Pie), and John Routhe. Warren is also survived by his sister, Mary LeQuea of Tucson; brother-in-law, Edward Derus of Milwaukee, Wis.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A son, Paul Bloom, and a brother, Worth Bloom, preceded him in death.

Warren was a soldier. He served in WWII with the 76th Infantry Division, Company B, 301st Engineer Combat Batallion and fought in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), Rhineland, and Central Europe. After the war, he returned to the military, enlisting in the United States Air Force. He retired as chief master sergeant. His career with the military continued in a civilian capacity when he went to work for the Department of the Defense as an Air Force budget analyst.

In 1982, Warren became a soldier of God when he committed his life to serving Jesus. After he and Shirley moved to Prescott Valley in 1983, Warren was instrumental in planting and pioneering two new churches in the Prescott Valley area, and they are thriving churches even today. Warren served God faithfully as he served his country.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April, 4, 2011, at LifePointe Church, located at 10100 E. Highway 69 in Prescott Valley.

Interment will follow the memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Prescott National Cemetery, with full military honors. Please omit flowers; any monetary donations will be provided to a Christian missions ministry.

Sunrise Funeral Home assisted the family. Please visit www.sunrisefuneralhome.com to leave a message in the online guestbook obituary.
