Carl Johan Christianson was the son of Christian Johan Christianson and Anna Martine Gjerken.

At age 24 Carl Johan Christianson married Clara Sollien on 30 April 1887.

Carl and Clara raised 9 children, 8 of them their own, and 1 granddaughter named Pearl. Pearl was born the daughter of Anna Hermina Christianson, the oldest daughter. Pearl was raised thinking that Anna was her oldest sister. No one revealed the secret til my Grandmother (Anna) mentioned in her will, that Pearl was her daughter and not her sister.
