FIMBRES ELEANOR M. entered peacefully into rest in San Leandro on August 6, 2001. She was 84. A longtime San Leandro resident, Eleanor was a retired technician for Fredins Calculators. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking and gardening. Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Jose A. Fimbres of San Leandro; children, Joseph D. Mello of San Leandro; Marlene Macail of Sparks, NV; Judy Prawdzik of Los Angeles and Eleanor Patterson of San Leandro; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many dear extended family and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her brothers, Cowboy Hall of Famer, John Schneider in 1981 and Championship Bull Rider, Frank Schneider in 1982. Visitation for Eleanor will be on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM at Grissom's San Lorenzo Chapel/Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. The vigil service begins at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10 AM at John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Eleanor will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
