He enrolled on September 16, 1862 at Moore Township and mustered in on the following October 10 at Harrisburg. He gave his occupation as boatman and his residence as Lehigh County. He died in the Christian Street U.S. Army Hospital, Philadelphia, on June 25 (Philadelphia death certificate) or 26 (Bates' History), 1863. He was originally interred in Glenwood Cemetery, Philadelphia.
