Troy Barboza was a Police Officer in Honolulu, Hawaii. He died at the age of 24 in the line of duty. Officer Barboza was an undercover officer. He made a purchase of cocaine from the suspect while on a drug enforcement and had the suspect arrested. After the suspect was released from jail, he found out where Officer Barboza lived. The suspect went to his home and shot him with a shotgun as he sat in his easy chair in the living room. The suspect fled to San Diego, California where mainland undercover officers set a trap and set up a drug deal with the suspect which had him go back to Hawaii for the supposed drug-drop. Once back in Hawaii he was arrested and convicted, sentenced to life without parole.Troy Barboza graduated from Clayton Valley High School in 1981, in Clayton, California. He went onto Grinnell College in Iowa to play Football. After that he went onto the University of Hawaii and graduated there in 1985. In January of 1986 was appointed to the Honolulu Police Department. He became a Volunteer and Coach for the Special Olympics in Hawaii.
