SODA SPRINGS — Alice Marraine Griggs Bailey, 86, of Soda Springs, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs. Alice was born December 7, 1923, in Lake City, Iowa, the daughter of Neal and Charlotte Boeckel Griggs. She lived the majority of her life in Montana as a city girl.
Alice married Caral Franklin Bailey on November 18, 1938, in Mile City, Montana. Caral passed away July 14, 1966. When they were married they moved to the family farm in Mile City, Montana. They later moved to Dalton Gardens, Idaho, in 1949 and then moved to Post Falls, Idaho, and then in 1963 they moved to Inkom, Idaho. They then moved to Kodiak, Alaska, in 1964 and then in 1966 moved to Soda Springs, Idaho, where she has lived ever since.
She worked at the Cedar View for a number of years where she made many good friends.
Alice enjoyed crocheting, reading, working and puzzles.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter, Ed and Barbara Bailey, Henry Bailey, Dennis Bailey, Tom and Arlene Bailey, Carol and Gary Vorwaller and daughter-in-law Bonnie Bailey all of Soda Springs, Idaho. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and one sister, Gin Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Caral Franklin Bailey, a son, Daniel Richard Bailey, a grandson, Scott Bailey, a great-grandson, Tyson Clarence Vorwaller, and a great-granddaughter, Amanda Marie Bailey, 2 infant brothers and two sisters, Mellie Walker and Bobbie Jean Wilkins.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at noon at the Sims Funeral Home.
Burial will be on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at 11 a.m.
Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
